Thank you so much. These are some great recommendations. Another reader recommended O'Henry's "Gift of the Magi". She said, " ...tortoise shell combs and a platinum watch chain...one of the most romantic stories ever written." Now, I have a lot to read. Best, April

I'm still working my way through "The French Blue" which is a good jewelry novel. I've heard good things about the Castelli book too and definitely want to read Priceless, we have similar taste. Have you read "Flawless" about the biggest diamond theft? Fascinating. I'm also reading "God's Gold" which is by an archaeologist and about the search for the lost treasure of Jerusalem, a real-life Indiana Jones book.

Thanks for the friendly reminder. With precious metal prices through the roof, we must protect ourselves as jewelry owners by keeping our jewelry appraisals up to date!

Especially if we have such beautiful pieces those platinum & colored diamond Starlight Bangle bracelets by Etienne Perret! Loosing that much platinum will set you back big time if they are still insured at the platinum prices from years ago!

I was just a humble Jewelry Retail Sales Associate who loved and still do, the Remount/ReStyling Events that will happen at my store. To recreate a little history...The year was 1984 late Oct,early November, The place was Miami, Florida and I was just started to work for one of the best Retail jewelers of the time....JB Robinson Jewelers. I fell in love with the company and with its philosofy...WE'll never say "May I Help You" to a walk-in/prospect/potencially customer for life. We did not want the automatic response..."No, Just Looking...Thank You". Instead we'll say and looking at that person square in the eye...What's the Special Occasion? What brings you in?(Open ended Questions, that can't be answered with a No).This particular prospect said to me. I Just received
this card in the mail from your store and I would like to see some new mounting maybe you'll be able to tranfer my diamonds
from this old grandmom ring that I never been able to wear because of its size and its all worn out too, and I never wanted to leave this piece for repair and away from me. To make a long story short when the Jeweler finished the piece with all the customer's diamonds set and she tryed it on she was speech less. That's the Magic of Remounting.
